The vision and purpose of the Ceres Project is to midwife an awakening to wholeness in our lives, in our communities and in our world.

The Seed of the Flower of Life - Pattern for the CERES Project

by Paul Kervick, Awakening Sanctuary

Throughout multicultural history the sphere or circle has represented wholeness, the ineffable oneness of creation. Atoms, cells, seeds, planets, solar systems all echo this circular pattern. The circle is the perfect metaphor for equivalence; any point on the circumference is equally accessible by the center from which all originate.

The center of the circle is the heart.

Ceres calls each of us to our centers, our hearts, from which we will come into our wholeness. The Ceres project chose a symbol based on circles to ground the seven universal principles necessary for wholeness in our personal and community lives.

The symbol of seven intersecting circles is known as

the seed of the Flower of Life.

The full Flower of Life Symbol has been found throughout the world and is comprised of nineteen intersecting circles surrounded by two concentric rings.

The seven principles represented by the seven circles are:

  1. Communication Ð using skillful dialog to build awareness, truth, and shared responsibility among all participants
  2. Elements Ð Using lifeÕs essential elements to create and maintain vital soil, water and personal health
  3. Hearth Ð Creating vital living spaces with sustainable materials and building practices
  4. Creativity Ð Fostering and supporting each community memberÕs ability to learn, create and be involved in life-affirming work
  5. Spirit Ð Assisting community members in finding an inner guiding principle that nourishes and supports oneÕs life journey
  6. Service Ð Giving gifts to the larger communities within which we live
  7. Mystery Ð Committing to new opportunities, growth and the unknown

We are hosting all day visioning/experiencing circles where you can learn and explore in more depth these seven principles and their significance in your daily life. Contact us for further information.
